On Thursday, September 26, 2024, WASP Mabelle “Barry” Vincent Smith’s family joined us on Avenger Field to spread her ashes on the hallowed ground, joining her sisters in aviation once more.  She had one last flight with her grandson, Jeff Butler, in a F-18 Super Hornet above Avenger Field.  In his words, while handing the ashes to his family, “Here’s Grandma… She’s now supersonic!”  We are so thankful for the family choosing the share this moment with us and extend a huge thank you to Dyess Air Force Base for helping with the service.  View the photos below of this special moment.
