Margaret DiBenedetto – Author

Margaret DiBenedetto is the daughter of WASP Ruth Franckling Reynolds (43-W-2). She grew up exploring the fields, streams, and forests of her family’s farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. She studied Creative Writing at Sam Houston State University with Texas Poet Laureate Dr. Paul Ruffin and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oneonta State University.
Margaret chairs the Board of Directors for the prominent Catskill Center for Conservation and Development and has served on the Board of Writers in the Mountains. She is currently a Trustee for the Michael Kudish Natural History Preserve in Stamford, New York.

An opportunity to tell her mother’s story came along with the COVID lockdown. By incorporating past aviation history with present day challenges through strong female role models, Margaret hopes to educate a wider, younger audience about the WASP and their role in WWII.

Margaret still lives on the family farm with her husband and two very loud dogs. Her hobbies include snorkeling, baking lasagne, and native gardening (for the birds).
